John Robert Powers – New Orleans

Attention: Ashley Pomes

From: Madison McLaughlin

Dear Ashley,

Hi Ashley! We hope all is well with you and your whole gang there at JRP, New Orleans. So much has changed since we left. We haven’t even seen the new building and location post “Katrina’’. Hopefully we’ll get the opportunity to visit soon. Madison would love to visit JRP. I’m sure it would bring back many memories of her starting point in the industry.

It is so hard to believe that it has almost been two years since we started our journey to Los Angeles and almost 2 ½ years since iPOP! How exciting that time was! What a trip….we are still talking about all the good times we had during the preparation for iPOP and then in New York. WOW!! Madison has really grown both physically and in her acting strength since our introduction to the Hollywood/LA industry scene. She has constantly been involved in classes, workshops, theatre performances, and many other training activities enhancing her skills in improve, scene study, singing, dancing, character sketches, commercials, etc. We have had the opportunity to meet so many set coaches, casting directors, directors, producers, and actors during our activities here. It has truly been a whirlwind most of the time and a very wonderful experience thus far.

As you know, we came as an entire family. Gary loves his job here and the job market is so wide open out here that it holds much opportunity.

When we came out, we had Marissa, 5 years old, with a chronic illness and were traveling to see doctors in New York and Texas very often. There are many specialists close to us out here and we are not having to travel as much for that. We will be seeing a highly specialized doctor in Washington DCLos Angeles. So being here has also helped us in the area of treatment for Marissa. Our 2 year old, Mahrynn, has recently been diagnosed with the same illness and we are thankful for the availability of specialists so close to us. that we have been introduced to by our Neurologist in

Our family and friends have visited very often and that helps when we get homesick. Entertaining visitors is really easy, because southern California has so very much to offer. It is a beautiful area with an awesome climate. We have mountains and beaches and tons of great shopping! The only things we really miss are the people, food, and the Cajun lifestyle! We just bring it out here every way we can. We have made lots of contacts of Louisiana folks that are out here and get together for LSU games and crawfish boils (if you can believe that!)

I apologize for not being in touch sooner, but as I mentioned earlier, it has been a whirlwind! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought of you, JRP, and iPOP. We have spoken a few times and it’s always nice to hear your voice and swap information. I’m not sure if I’ve ever expressed how much your guidance and assistance meant to us during our initial relocation. We were very blessed to originally sign with wonderful representation and have since made a couple changes to enhance opportunity as Madison has grown in the industry.

She has stayed busy, but her biggest accomplishments include a National Volvo commercial which she was able to travel to Denver, Colorado with my Mother to shoot last July (about 1 year post iPOP). The production company treated them like royalty and they saw a beautiful part of our country. The shots took place on the highest paved road @ 14,270 ft. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. We have lots of photos for memories. The commercial is still running strong and the checks are still coming! She was fortunate in the fact that the contract she signed with Volvo covers a two year period. It has definitely been an awesome experience. She also filmed a feature film this past March, Stacey ‘s Mom, in which she had a small, but speaking role. She had a really great time on set and is still close friends with most of the kids from the set. We are very much looking forward to the premier. Speaking of premiers, we have been to several red carpet events on Hollywood Blvd. The latest premiere we were able to be a part of was Hancock with Wil Smith. Just last night we were on Hollywood Blvd. and they were premiering the new Beverly Hills Chihuahuas movie. It is very interesting to be a part of these events and see all the actors. We feel very blessed to have such wonderful opportunities around us. We just this week filmed a video for Pediatric Physicians offices, which was filmed in our home and included me and all the girls, starring Madison. It was so much fun. There are so many other things Madison has done since our arrival to Los Angeles. She has done fit modeling for Hanah Montana Clothing with Disney, starred in many student and thesis films, was the Lead in a Religious worldwide video for family training, was a lead in an independent film, Young Again, and performed in several music videos. She really stays busy most of the time.

Her sisters have even entered the acting world. They have been on Desperate Housewives, Two and a Half Men, and Yo Gabba Gabba to name a few. The whole family appeared in an episode of the Scott Baio Show, “46 and Pregnant”. It was awesome meeting Scott Baio. He is really a nice guy. Our whole family has truly enjoyed our tenure here in the Los Angeles area.

Madison is definitely fulfilling her dreams. She is doing what she loves to do. It is in her heart and soul. It feels good to know that she is able to really live her dream. This has all been made possible by both JRP opening the doors to opportunity and providing initial training preparation for iPOP and by the loving support we have received from my parents along with the rest of the family and our friends. We are forever indebted as a truly blessed family to all mentioned above.

We wanted to take the opportunity to express in writing our thanks to you, Ashley, for being such an integral part of what has taken place for Madison and our whole family the past couple of years. We so very sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have done. Thank you so much for your continued support. We hope our relationship will continue for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Janice McLaughlin and Family
